Reporting to the Finance Director responsible for operations based outside of the UK, the Financial Controller will manage a large team of Finance Managers, Management Accountants and Commercial Reporting Managers.  Core aspects of the role include:

Delivery of month end processes and reporting
Review of monthly results with local country-based Finance teams
Ad -hoc reporting and analysis
Delivery and management of Finance Transformation projects
Swift issue resolution management
Management of the year end audit process
Responsibility for SLA compliance reporting, resourcing, recruitment, development and training of the team
Balance sheet reporting, reconciliations and review
Liaising with Group Reporting to ensure Rest of Europe tax compliance information is available, cash funding management is performed, and reporting timelines are met
Delivery of the consolidated financial position for each country to Group Reporting
Assisting the FD and the Head of Financial Planning on Budget delivery
Motivating and developing the teams, driving towards stability and clear accountability for delivering on targets

 

Candidate profile:

Educated to degree level with a professional accounting qualification (CIMA, ACA, ACCA or similar)
A minimum of five years post-qualification experience gained in a commercial environment within a similar or aligned industry such as healthcare, retail, FMCG, pharmaceuticals, or professional services
Experience of managing a large team and driving performance
Adaptable and flexible, thrive in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.  Key is an entrepreneurial mindset that is focussed on customer service
Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver right-first-time results
A questioning mind, natural leadership skills that achieve results coupled with strong interpersonal and presentation skills
Willingness to travel occasionally to the head office locations in the European portfolio
It is desirable that you have an appreciation of working in a Shared Service Centre managing diverse teams
