Our client is a high growth consultancy business with ambitious growth plan for the next three years which

will see turnover more than double. The business is working towards an exit in the next few years and in order to support the management team in delivering the growth plan and preparing the business for an exit, the company is looking to

appoint strong, commercially-oriented COO who will have responsibility for both finance and operations.

Role and responsibilities

Reporting to the Managing Director the COO will have overall responsibility for finance, accounting and operations

(including HR) and will provide support to the business development and sales functions. It is anticipated that the successful candidate will be appointed to the Board of the company on successful completion of his or her probation period.

Particular areas of responsibility will include:

•  Clear and timely finance and business reporting to support both the executive

management team and the board / shareholders.

•  Robust analysis and management of key operating parameters: utilization,

project profitability, committed income, sales pipeline and overheads.

•  Reviewing existing IT systems and operating processes and making

recommendations for improvement / enhancement.

•  Supporting the development of a standard approach to project modelling and pricing.

•  Liaising with the company’s professional advisers (legal and accounting).

•  Overseeing the HR function.

This is a fantastic opportunity for somebody seeking a truly broad COO role in rapidly growing, entrepreneurial business.  Previous experience working within a consultancy businesses would be advantageous.  Importantly the successful candidate for this role will be digitally literate and will have a keen understanding of WIP accounting/ billing for time.
