Our client is a growing venture capital backed social impact investment focussed on improving the lives of people in care. A Finance Director is required to support the growth of the business. Reporting to the CEO key responsibilities will include -

Financial Control and Business Continuity

  • Improvement of Financial Control, Processes and Systems
  • Ensuring that the day to day finances are managed and run smoothly to facilitate the business.
  • Helping to ensure that the business is sustainable through appropriate cost control and highlighting of relevant financial risks.

Strategic Management and Growth

  • Making a significant contribution to the strategic management and growth of the Group.
  • Ensuring that budgets are reforecasts are robust and backed by high quality assumptions.
  • Ensuring that senior management and the Board have financial KPI information to make strategic decisions and helping to inform those decisions.
  • Ensuring that each business area grows to become cashflow positive.

Compliance

  • Managing the relationship with auditors and external financial advisors.
  • Ensuring that all the companies are financially compliant (eg VAT, HMRC, Audit, pensions).
  • Ensuring that the business has financial policies and procedures that are appropriate, communicated and followed.

HR

  • Managing the finance and HR team, with 3 direct reports (Finance Manager, Business Analyst and HR Manager).
  • Ensuring that all group companies are HR compliant.

You will be a Qualified Accountant with experience of working for a growing SME. You must have experience of managing successful finance teams. You must have the ability to work with people at all levels internally and externally.
