Robert Draper

Robert is an Economics graduate from the University of Sussex and has worked in financial recruitment since 1996 when he joined one of the UK's largest financial recruiters, heading up two of their central London offices before taking on international roles in Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.

Upon his return to the UK, Robert joined an international recruitment business setting up new offices whilst also working in a regional role managing 5 offices in central London. After a 6 month secondment to New York assisting with the integration of two newly acquired businesses he returned to London in 2004. Robert joined Equity FD at the end of 2004 with the remit of setting up a new brand , Equity FC, focused specifically on recruiting financial controllers into entrepreneurial businesses.

As co-founder, Robert leads the Equity FC team which provides senior finance candidates (head of finance, financial controller, group financial controller, FD Designate) on both an interim and permanent basis across a range of sectors, many of which have PE, VC or VCT backing. Sectors include retail/ leisure, support services, financial services, manufacturing & IT/ software and the businesses range in size from start-ups through to some of the UK's largest buyouts. Robert also recruits finance directors into the same sectors but has a particular focus on recruiting into early stage ventures particularly technology/digital businesses.
